Hlín in Norse tradition

Frigg placed those whom she wished to protect from danger under Hlín’s guard. Hlín was the twelfth of Frigg’s attendants. A person who was warned of danger was called Hlín’s.

Hlín was a Norse goddess who comforted mourners and carried their prayers to Frigg. She served within Frigg’s household and acted on Frigg’s behalf in protecting those who appealed to her in grief. In one telling, Frigg herself was also called Hlín, so the name referred either to Frigg or to one of her attendants.
