Ragnarök

Not applicable: Ragnarök is an event, not a being

01Identity

A three-year winter began, followed by wars, social collapse, earthquakes, and the fall of trees and mountains. The wolves Sköll and Hati swallowed the sun and moon. Yggdrasil shook, Bifröst collapsed, and the land sank beneath the sea. Ragnarök ended the world and brought doom to the gods.

The final battle took place on the field of Vigridr. The gods fought alongside the einherjar against the giants, monsters, and other powers of the underworld. Loki and Fenrir broke free, Naglfar carried the dead to the battle, and Surtr led the sons of Muspell. The gods and their opponents killed one another. Surtr then set fire to all the realms.
