Euterpe

Euterpe governed flute music and bore the name Bringer of Delight. She was one of the Muses, the daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne, who inspired poetry. She held flute music as her particular realm.

The Muses dwelt on the summits of Mount Helicon, Mount Parnassus, and Mount Pindus. They also haunted the springs and fountains among these heights, which were sacred to them and to poetic inspiration. Euterpe was linked to Thrace through Rhesus. She, Calliope, and Clio each bore him as a son.
